Soil Type: Loam, sand, moist soil but well drained

Light: Partial shade, partial sun, full sun

Foliage: Leaves are 1½ inch long to 1 inch wide, oval, very abundant

Blooms: Early summer

Flowers: Small multiple pink to purple flowers; flower last 4 to 6 weeks

Fruit: Small, short legumes, open when mature

Values and Uses: Bicolor Lespedeza is best used for field borders. A great species to provide cover and food for many different animals. Wildlife targeted with Bicolor includes bobwhite quail, rabbits, deer and honeybees. Suggest planting switchgrass in conjunction with lespedeza to provide optimal cover for animals.
