New Forest Technician Serving Culpeper County

You may see a new face in Culpeper and Orange counties if you own wooded property or fight wildfires. Jonathan Pine, forest technician with the Virginia Department of Forestry, has transferred to the Culpeper area replacing Donnie Foster. Foster has retired after 30 years of service with the Department of Forestry.

Pine went to Dabney S. Lancaster College where he received his associate's degree in Forest Technology. He is transferring from the northern Virginia area, where he served as the Forest Technician there for one year. He will work out of the Orange County field office, located along Route 15 just south of the town of Orange. He can be reached at 540-672-2638.

The Virginia Department of Forestry protects and develops healthy, sustainable forest resources for Virginians. Headquartered in Charlottesville, there are Forestry staff members in every county to provide service to citizens of the Commonwealth. With nearly 16 million acres of forestland and more than 248,000 Virginians employed in the forest products industry, Virginia forests provide more than $30 billion annually in benefits to the Commonwealth. The VDOF is an equal opportunity provider.
