Floyd County
Water Quality: Riparian Restoration

A map showing the number of riparian buffer restoration projects in Floyd County.

Virginia's landscape has been visibly altered since the Jamestown settlement of 1607. Stream corridors are no exception to these events.

Throughout history, agricultural practices utilized stream corridors for crop and cattle production.

As a result of these activities, Virginia waterways require restoration efforts, including stream bank stabilization, in-stream structures and forest plantings.
